There is a saying that the first casualty during a war is the truth and the veracity of this adage was established even before commencement of US aggression against Iraq. Despite the fact that the UN Security Council Resolution 1441 did not permit any attack on Iraq, as all it permitted was for the UN inspectors to seek and destroy weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the United States continued to allege that Saddam Hussein's Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction despite the fact that Hans Blix, the Chief of the UN inspection team, stated that no such weapons had been found and added sarcastically that if the United States knew that such weapons existed then why did they not give him the exact coordinates of where they were attacked and he (Blix) would go and find them. Besides Blix the head of the International Atomic Energy Commission also associated with this search had categorically stated that no nuclear weapons or capability existed.
Hans Blix had recommended that more time be given to the UN team to continue the search for such weapons but since the United States was determined to attack Iraq for reasons other than trying to find WMD, it carried out this totally unlawful aggression notwithstanding the recommendations of the UN inspectors and the desire of all the other UN Security Council members.
Since attacking Iraq and speeding all over the country, the United States is bound to find WMD in order to justify their heinous crime. It is strange that a whole week has gone by without them having found such evidence. There has been some mention of a chemical plant having been found but it has not been confirmed. Find such a plant they will for in order to justify their right to attack, they will produce biological agents. After all when Iraq had such agents they were supplied by the United States so for them to plant the same in an appropriate place and perhaps at an appropriate time should not be difficult. Perhaps they will wait another two weeks before they produce any such evidence. It will have a greater verisimilitude than now when they have not occupied other than stretches of the desert where the likelihood of locating any WMD is less than in the more inhibited parts.
The Holy Washington Emperor, Bush, is very exercised about the treatment of the American prisoners of war. He has declared that those mistreating them will be treated as war criminals. Really!
It is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Having committed the greatest illegal act of attacking a miserable little country and thus becoming the greatest war criminal, he is quoting the Geneva Convention with regard to prisoners of war! This is as if the Americans are heaven born and there are separate rules and laws for them that are not applicable to lesser beings other than American.
Bush is trying to nestle back into some legality. He along with his poodle, Tony Blair, is babbling about the reconstruction of Iraq under the auspices of the UN. France quite correctly has declared that it will not join in this because it makes the present illegal act legal. This "rebuilding" of Iraq has already started. A US company, of which the vice president of the US was the head, has already been given a contract for the operation of the post war Basra. Another American company belonging to an equally eminent American office holder has been given a similar contract. For both these contracts there were British companies vying for these crumbs off the table of the Emperor. They received the same treatment as the poodle.
This cry of reconstruction is again a cover up for the loot that will take place. If you will do as much as you tom-tom to reconstruct Iraq, then why destroy if in the first place? It you left it alone and did not destroy it, you would not have to rebuild. The fact of the matter is that a bill of billions of dollars will be totted up. As it is Bush has already asked the Congress to sanction $75 billions for war expenditure. There will be many more such requests before it has ended. After the war the US will occupy Iraq for an indefinite period although the lie will be that it is for the reconstruction of Iraq. The reconstruction will be paid for by Iraq from the process of Iraqi oil. It will probably take all of 20 years to complete. The Iraqi children will still continue to die for lack of food and medicines as they were for the last ten years because of the sanctions imposed by the US.
Another big lie of the US is that there are 33 countries allied with it in the aggression against Iraq. This is far from the truth. The US has asked a number of countries to expel Iraqi diplomats from their countries. No country other than Jordan has complied.
It is a pity that Jordan has done so. In fact all the Arab countries should declare an embargo on the export of oil to the US till the aggression stops. Regrettably these countries are so much under the control of the US that they will not do so.
The Security Council should meet and pass a resolution condemning the US and order a ceasefire. It will not press because both the US and UK will veto it but as the court will have passed a judgement even though the two accused will be the dissenting judges. It will still be a symbolic action and perhaps might enable the United Nations to survive after the outlaws have had their spree of looting.
To close, I quote a supreme example of callousness. Emperor Bush is said to have gone to sleep after giving the order to attack Iraq and kill women and children and destroy their homes.
