Press 'threatened' over Arab celebration
TEL AVIV, Israel, Sep. 13 (UPI) -- The Foreign Press Association, which represents foreign correspondents working in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Thursday sharply protested what they said were attempts by the Palestinian Authority to prevent coverage of people celebrating the recent terrorist attacks in the United States.
Pictures of a small demonstration in Israeli-ruled East Jerusalem -- showing Palestinians celebrating Tuesday's suicide attacks in New York and Washington -- were broadcast across the world. But according to the FPA, coverage of a much larger rally in Palestinian-administered Nablus was effectively foiled by police and other armed men, and by subsequent threats from the Palestinian Authority. Black box giving off signals at Pentagon
(CNN) -- One of the flight recorders from the American Airlines 757 that slammed into the Pentagon is sending out transponder signals, one leader of rescue efforts said Thursday.

CNN's CORRECTION
We would like to correct a report that appeared on CNN. Based on information from multiple law enforcement sources, CNN reported that Adnan Bukhari and Ameer Bukhari of Vero Beach Florida, were suspected to be two of the pilots who crashed planes into the World Trade Center. CNN later learned that Adnan Bukhari is still in Florida, where he was questioned by the FBI. We are sorry for the misinformation. A federal law enforcement source now tells CNN that Bukhari passed an FBI polygraph and is not considered a suspect. Through his attorney, Bukhari says that he is helping authorities. Ameer Bukhari died in a small plane crash last year. MORE CNN

Bush vows to 'whip terrorism'
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With tears in his eyes and a trembling voice, U.S. President George W. Bush has vowed to wage a relentless campaign to "whip terrorism" after this week's attacks in New York and Washington.
"This is a terrible moment, but this country will not relent until we have saved ourselves and others from the terrible tragedy that came upon America," Bush said of the hijacked plane attacks in which 5,000 people are feared dead.
"Through the tears of sadness I see an opportunity," he told reporters during an appearance in the Oval Office at which his eyes filled with tears and his voice at times quavered.
"This nation is sad, but we are also tough and resolute and now is an opportunity to do generations a favour by coming together and whipping terrorism, hunting it down, finding it and holding them accountable," he added. MORE
British death toll nears 100
The confirmed number of UK victims of the terror attacks in the US is already about 100, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has said.
But the final toll is expected to be in the "middle hundreds" and may be higher still, he warned.
A "handful" of Britons were among those who died on board the aircraft used in the terrorist attacks, Downing Street said.
