Today was second day of our international human rights accompaniment and observation delegation in Honduras. Initial meetings were held yesterday with representatives from the International Committee of the National Popular Resistance Front (FNRP), the leadership of the FNRP, and Honduran Platform for Human Rights.

El Salvadorian President Mauricio Funes has publicly condemned a group of opposition supporters for inviting Roberto Micheletti, the former post-coup leader of Honduras, to visit El Salvador. "When I see that among us there are people that recognize and praise a coup leader, I can do nothing but express my most energetic rejection," Funes told a meeting Wednesday night, Salavadorian media reported Thursday.

The "coup" of 28/6/2009 (so Obama himself called it before Lobo, although it was those who conspired who were deploring it) entailed a high and expansive level of involvement of the International Community, especially of the OAS, in Honduras. From the perspective of the Resistance, nonetheless, this involvement also was incoherent and ineffective and even misleading (1) in various meanings of the word.
