This claim was voiced by the host of Frente a Frente TV program, Renato Alvarez. He reports that a meeting over the weekend that included the new head of Congress, the chief justice of the Supreme Court, and Lobo Sosa, but not the public prosecutor, Luis Rubi, resulted in agreement to move forward immediately on this legislation.

    The Honduran National People's Resistance Front (FNRP), led by union leader Juan Barahona and peasant leader Rafael Alegrķa, among others, has called for two marches on January 27, the day "Pepe" Lobo will be sworn in as president. As it has maintained from the start, the goal of the resistance is the calling of a constitutional assembly to rewrite the 1982 constitution imposed by the military dictatorship.
